Privacy policy

FundAlign (fundalign.ai) is operated by Artemis Collective LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.

What we collect

Account information: your email address, and your name and profile image if you sign in with a provider that shares them. Sign-in is handled by Clerk.
What you enter: fund tickers or names, analyses you choose to save, questions you ask the assistant, and your reminder-email preference.
Files you upload: screenshots or PDFs of your fund list (see below).
Purchases: what you bought, when, and your credit balance. Stripe processes payment; we never see or store your full card number.
Usage and device data: pages visited, referrer, browser, operating system, device type and approximate location (country/region/city), collected by Vercel Web Analytics; and session and security data collected by Clerk to keep you signed in and prevent abuse.
Advisor accounts: if you are a financial professional, the client names, emails and notes you enter, and your firm's logo and details.

We never ask for your account login, password, Social Security number, account numbers or balances. FundAlign only needs the names or tickers of your funds.

Screenshots and PDFs you upload

Plan screenshots and statements often show more than fund names, such as your name, balances, contribution amounts and partial account numbers. Everything in the file is sent to Anthropic's API so its AI model (Claude) can read the fund list. Please crop or cover personal and account details before uploading. FundAlign doesn't save the file; we keep only the list of funds read from it, in your browser. Anthropic processes the file under its commercial terms and privacy policy.

How we use information

To run analyses, show your results and generate reports.
To sign you in, process purchases and track credits.
To send transactional emails and, only if you opt in, reminder emails. You can turn reminders off from any reminder or in the app.
To understand aggregate site usage, fix problems and prevent abuse.
To publish aggregate statistics (for example, number of analyses and average overlap). These are counted without any user identifier.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that run FundAlign on our behalf:

Anthropic (AI processing): fund tickers and names, fund data, your questions to the assistant, and files you upload. Fund lookups may include AI web searches that contain only fund names or tickers.
Clerk (sign-in and account management).
Supabase (database: account record, credits, saved analyses, advisor client records).
Stripe (payments and fraud prevention).
Vercel (hosting and Web Analytics).
Resend (email delivery).

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, or to a successor in a merger or sale of the business.

Cookies and analytics

Clerk sets cookies that are needed to keep you signed in. Stripe may set cookies on its checkout pages for fraud prevention. Vercel Web Analytics doesn't use cookies; it counts visits using a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours and isn't linked to your account. We don't use advertising cookies or trackers.

Fund data

Fund holdings and expense ratios come from public SEC filings (or, for funds that don't file, public sources) and are cached for up to 90 days. Cached fund data contains no personal information.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time (click your profile picture, then Manage account); this removes your FundAlign data, including credit history and saved analyses. Stripe retains payment records as required by law. Advisor client records are kept until the firm deletes them or closes its account.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or ask questions about this policy, by emailing privacy@fundalign.ai. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law; we'll honor them as required and won't treat you differently for using them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to our database and providers is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't upload more than you need to.

Children

FundAlign is for adults 18 and older and isn't directed to children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app.
